Autumn list

This year I’ve made a list of entertainment for the autumn 🍂 I’m trying to consume things that truly interest me and not scroll on social media to be surprised by things that don’t matter to me. That only gives me lots of unrest and irritation.

Watching Buffy and Angel IMG_0335

I have a Disney+ subscription the past months instead of Netflix, and I found Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel on there. I’ve actually never watched these shows; I was an avid Charmed fan so I just know I would loved Buffy. Currently I’m in season 4 of Buffy and season 1 of Angel, and I’m compiling my thoughts and feelings about the shows, that I will share whenever on my blog. I recently saw a post from Monster High about a doll pack of Buffy and Angel, now that I’m watching the show, I maybe want to put them on my wishlist 🦇

Book reading IMG_0338

During autumn last year I found the Beautiful Creatures book in a secondhand section of our bookstore. I remembered that years ago I’ve seen the movie and searched if they’ve continued filming, but sadly no. As this is a 4 book series I wanted to read the first book. If I would like the story I would buy the rest. I started reading last year and really liked the story, but I have periods where I read a lot and periods where I completely forget that I was reading lol so in January I made the new year resolution to finish things. I started finishing this first book and ordered the second book in the series. I have a few other series of books that I haven’t finished over the years so while waiting for the second book to arrive I started another book series; the Shadow and Bone series and Frost/Fire/Night blood series. S&B is completely finished, I need to find the Nightblood book to finish this one also, but I search for secondhand books and also I don’t always have the finances ready, so after S&B I started with Beautiful Darkness. I’m almost finished reading this one and have just found the last two books, so during autumn I want to finish reading the Beautiful Creatures series; yay!

Movie + book IMG_0336

I don’t know why, but when I hear the Phantom of the Opera by Nightwish I almost always feel such strong emotions that I cry. Years ago I have seen the movie, and I also have the book. I even bought the movie on YouTube (which was a frustrating reminder because I wanted to delete my YouTube lol). I search the thrift for a dvd so I can play the movie on my laptop in the future. If I’m able to finish the Beautiful Creatures series during autumn, I will read the Phantom of the Opera, otherwise I think it is also suitable for winter season.

Cozy show IMG_0337

It’s a yearly tradition to watch Gilmore Girls during autumn for me. Especially now that I’m a mother of a daughter, I find the relationship of Lorelei and Rory fun to watch and I hope my relationship with my daughter can be as strong as theirs. I also am very attracted to the small town community they have; even though I’m not the type to participate with everything, our small town is very active and alive. It’s a good environment and I’ve met nice people, I love that our daughter grows up here.

Creating Crocheting is a hobby that I have really tried to learn the past 4 years and it can be very soothing to me. But I need to have a project that is fun for me. Sometimes I need a bit of challenge, and sometimes I need simplicity and patterns that I can almost mindlessly do. Last year I started crocheting pumpkins for decoration but haven’t finished them; so I will finish those and see if there are other patterns that I want to try.

Writing IMG_0341

Since 2016 I’ve almost every year participated the NaMoWriMo. Sadly some things have happened on the platform which made me and many others basically quitting with their brand. But it is a fun challenge and tradition so many people are basically still challenging themselves only they’re not calling it NaNoWriMo anymore to boycott them. So this year I also continue with my story writing. A few months ago I’ve bought a very good ebook about writing which I’m going to use; The Raconteur, which is helping me break down who I am as a writer, and along with this I also am using The Book Outline (which is made by the same person, and findable on the above website).

I am currently writing about a human woman and fae woman who will be switched in the body, so they can learn what is in the heart of their souls. For now I’m not going to elaborate much more for I am still figuring a lot things out about the story, but it will be a kind of inner journey from myself, which I want to write in a symbolic and fantastical way. I’m not even sure if I ever will come to a place where I will share the writings, in short story form of even a whole book. It’s just fun to do and helping me understand my own story of life.

I will probably expand on this list during autumn, but these are the things I have thought about for a while and it was fun to share, I hope this inspires and motivates another person

Until next time,
