Getting peace in unexpected ways

Time goes by so fast, not too long ago during the summer vacation my grandmother got in the hospital and we were saying our goodbyes. Not too long ago she left this earth. Not too long ago we buried her with my grandfather, who died in January this year.

I was depressed, but couldn’t get my emotions out. It kept building.

And then, my mother texted me if I would think about what things I would like to have from my grandparents.

Since that moment, I felt like every feeling suddenly got a place somewhere.

I could pick my life up for a bit.

And then I was thinking about the day my parents and brother would come with furniture of my grandparents. And if me and husband would need to go to their home to help getting the furniture in the truck. I visualized their home, but my grandparents wouldn’t be there and their house would be different; stuff would be out of place, furniture would be gone. And I hit a wall (not literally lol) a wall of emotions. And I realized; grief is a proces. This is my proces.

I was okay for a week, and then I got the realization again; they are gone. Gone gone.

Past Saturday they moved some furniture to our home. And I can’t help but feeling so happy that their furniture is here. It’s not like they are here, but their furniture have memories of us with them, and now I can build upon those memories with my own family. And I think that’s beautiful. And I feel blessed. And I know they would love it that their stuff gets a place with their loved ones. And it gives me peace.
